Coach Announcements

Coaches,

All of the fields at Bayview Terrace are reserved for the Challenger Team Camp use from 3:00 - 6:00 every day for the week of 18 - 22 Aug .

Please adjust your practice schedule accordingly.  You may start at 6:00 but please do not interfere with camps in progress.

Alternate practice areas may be available.

Also, FYI  Bayview Terrace is reserved for competitive teams with one exception.  One dad practices his U6 team Mon Wed before we light off the Blast practices with knowledge and permission of the board president and DOC, his other daughter practices with Russ immediately after.

The concept is that we will ONLY use Bayview Terrace so as not to interfere with the rec coaches practice fields (which are many).  The rec coaches were instructed NOT to use Bayview Terrace as they had all the other fields available.  If you see a rec coach at BVT please ask him (nicely) to relocate his practice, and if you receive pushback, have him call me or David to explain the concept.

•  License
All coaches must be licensed or CYSA-South will not allow your team to be activated. If you are not already licensed by CYSA-south, or need to update your license to the next level, this means going to a clinic held by CYSA-South (California Youth Soccer Association – South).

•  Coaches in under six and eight should sign up for the YM1 class and coaches in older divisions must take the YM3 class.

•  Stay tuned for our next Licensing Classes.

•  If you cannot attend the class that we sponsor, you must register online for another league's class. The clinics are held in various parts of the county. It's easy to register for a class, just go to:

www.pyslsoccer.org

and click on coach information to find clinics. Follow the instructions.

•  All classes sponsored through other leagues must be signed up for online and in advance.

•  There is a $15.00 fee for the class that includes supplies. Head coaches who are parents of players will receive a discount at registration to cover this cost, coaches who are not parents and assistant coaches will be able to submit their receipt for the class for reimbursement from the league.

•  Background check/fingerprinting

This is a requirement for all coaches, assistant coaches, and league officials. CYSA-south uses Live Scan technology, so you will only have to have this done once. We have arranged to have CYSA-South at our coach meeting. We will pay the fee for this if you have it done at our meeting.
